What a great weekend we had! I just love weekends with nothing to do but spend time with each other! Wish they were all like that : )
Friday - I ended up taking the kids to see Santa that evening. Luckily it stopped snowing and it wasn't too bad. But we went straight inside when we got there and watched the parade from inside too! lol! It was WAY too cold for that : )
Mom went with me and we all had a good time! Emily and Tyler both sat on Santa's lap and they looked so adorable!
When we got home we still had a lot of the evening left! We laid around the house and watched Frosty :)
Saturday - had a lazy morning (if I remember right- it's hard to remember everything day-to-day, lol).
Tyler and I did run to the store and $store though. It was a lot of fun to have a getaway with my first born :) .. I have a couple of funny stories from our 'trip'- will have to post them later !
That afternoon we went to my parent's house to visit for a little while. We had a good time!
That evening, Matt went to church and the kids and I stayed home. Tyler was laying on the couch watching a movie and I was feeding Emily. Both kids fell asleep and slept FOREVER! I knew they were both wore out, so I didn't want to wake them up. Even though it was an awful time for a nap (6pm).
I made homemade chicken and noodles and grilled cheese for dinner. We watched Santa Claus 3 (with Tim Allen- I love all the Santa Claus movies!). We cuddled on the couch, eating popcorn, before bedtime. PERFECT evening!
Sunday- Matt took Tyler to Sunday School and I stayed home with Emily. I love having one-on-one time with both my kids. It's seldom that happens, so I savor it when it does!
When they got back, we had some lunch and Matt headed to Ron's house to rotate his tires on his car. Tyler and Emily both took naps again! I act surprised by this because Tyler doesn't nap on the weekends anymore, and hasn't for a very long time. So two days in a row was very odd for him!
I held Emily while she slept (highlight of my day :)
After she woke up, Tyler was still asleep, so we went to the kitchen to do some baking projects! I made some cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies! She played in the highchair and the Bumpo seat while I cooked and loved it!
The rest of the day/evening was spent inside, just the four of us. I loved every second of it.
I am planning on every Sunday being 'family day' .. where we don't leave the house (except for Sunday School & Church) and we just spend the day at home, doing whatever. Seems like a good idea to me!
I have lots of pictures to post soon! Along with a few recipes too!
I hope that everyone had a good weekend!
Monday- some errands to run at lunch (one of the reasons that I love having a local job :)
Tuesday- Matt is getting home late- some coworkers are going out for dinner as a goodbye to a guy that's going back to Germany.
Wednesday - no plans.
Thursday- Busy day! Rata is off, so Mom is watching the kids that morning and I'm doing it in the afternoon. Our work Christmas party is that day at noon, I might stick around for it, not sure yet. Matt is having surgery on his veins in JC at 1pm- Ron's driving him. Then practice at 4:45 for Tyler's concert! Going to be a busy/different kind of day!
Friday- no plans.
Saturday - Last year I started a 'tradition' not sure you would call it a tradition, but I am! lol!
Last year I had my family over and then Matt's family over to eat dinner around Christmas. I decided this year- seeing as how I'm a lot more busy than I was last year :) .. to have both of our families over at the same time. We called everyone tonight and everyone can come! It should be a good time! I already have the menu planned and everything pretty much ready. I'm not doing anything extra for it, and no extra cleaning. This is huge for me, and I mean HUGE! If you know me, and how I am when people come to my house, you'll understand what I mean :)
I just love this time of the year! Can't wait to get the festivities started for this holiday season!

First.. a funny picture!
I was adding something to my Amazon account and it said that I had 8 times equaling $150 in my cart! lol!
I went to see what they were and remembered Tyler playing on the Kindle and looking at these step stools! haha!
We have it set up to where he can't actually check out, so that's a good thing!
Anyway.. onto my weekend plans!
Friday- I want to go see Santa tonight. But it's cold, snowy and the roads were bad when I went out on lunch. Not sure if it's worth it. Still debating it and probably will debate it up until 4! Lol!
Saturday- I'm sure that it will be an indoor day. I have a few things at home to do, other than that, pretty quiet!
Sunday- Sunday School and then no plans.
I am predicting a very quiet weekend for us!
That is, unless sickness hits us. Two kids from daycare have had the flu last week/this week. So I'm just waiting until Tyler gets it...
I hope that everyone has a good weekend!
We have a couple of more bags of pulled pork leftover from Emily's Baptism. They made really good, quick dinner!
I found the idea from Pinterest. But I didn't add a lot of the stuff that they added. I kept it simple!
Pulled Pork Frito Pie
Pour some Fritos in the bottom of a baking pan (I used 4 mini bags).
Warm up already cooked pulled pork in a saucepan. Add BBQ sauce or leave out - whatever you prefer. I added some to mine.
Top on top on Fritos. Add some shredded cheese.
Bake until cheese is melted - about 10 minutes.
I loved it! I plan on making it again soon!
Here's a look back at what I decorated with last year- if anyone is interested!
I toned it down this year. Not worth the time or stress to get it all up. But I love the stuff that I did put up!!
Christmas cards from years past in binder clips! The lights around it was just left over from the washstand decor, so I wrapped it around the basket.
My favorite new decor- pine cone garland. The directions on Pinterest said to tie the string to the pine cones, but that wasn't working more me- so I used hot glue! lol! When is question- use hot glue!
Old Pepsi crate was my mom's and she's letting me borrow it! I used it last year too, but it was on the cedar chest. I also used it in the fall too.
Can you tell that this was my favorite decor?! lol
I think that I like it the most because it's not just Christmas- but winter too !
Christmas ball ornaments- I did the same thing last year.
I love our tree!
I used the orange crate for all the gift bags. They look less messy to me all together!
And the stocking were hung!
I love that we have 4 this year. This picture makes me smile.
Scentsy warmer/countdown. As you can tell I didn't write the countdown date on the chalkboard part- I figured that I wouldn't ever change it. lol!
The yard sign was supposed to be outside, but Tyler likes it, so it's inside : )
Window gel clings, jingle bells.
Books wrapped up to open each night! Another yard sign used as indoor decor! ha!
Advent 'wreath'. Same as last year.
Potpourri in the green bowl I had bought at Maries Hollow.
Snow globe from Malinda- it was a gift that she didn't want. I used it last year too.
Pine cones used as simple decoration on the book shelf! I love it!
Countdown on Tyler's table!
ps. I should mention that the pictures suck because I was holding Emily - like with the fall crafts. lol
The blocks aren't in it, because he likes playing with them.
Check out the photo holder on the left hand corner. I had bought a picture from from someone and when I went to pick it up she told me that I could have it too! Tyler LOVES it!
Overview of the living room.
Damn. You think that I could of cleaned up before taking pictures! I guess this is our 'lived in' look!
Our calendar is winter themed too - it's a Missouri Conservation calendar- my favorite!
One of my favorite pics of Tyler and Emily : )
Candy canes for decor!
Willow Tree Nativity Scene. I love it!
Oh yeah, and the Wise men came early- HA!
Cute angel craft that he did in Patty's class! I love it!
Garland, pine cones and berries on top.
Wreath on the door. It was made by me when I was little with my Grandma helping me. I've posted them before too! I love them!
EASIEST decor= snowman fridge!
Overview of the kitchen!
I used this banner last year too- but it was in a different spot.
The got the penguin window cling just for Tyler! He loves penguins!
We got our first Christmas cards last night! I love them!
Mine will be done closer to Christmas (complete Sarah fashion I assume).. but I do have my labels made and all ready to go. I did do some 'trimming down' on my list. Anyone that didn't send to us, isn't getting one this year. I was sending to too many people that didn't send one out, and since stamps are almost .50 plus the card, this makes sense! lol!
Well.. that's about it. Except for the little touches.
I hope that you all enjoyed a peek into how my house looks for Christmas!
How about that for a title! lol!
Tyler watching the snow before bedtime!
He thought that Santa wanted to watch the snow too : )
He opened his book last night and Matt wasn't ready to read it to him. So he started 'reading' it to himself!
I love his little feet!
She was sooo close to rolling over all the way! She just stopped at this position and wouldn't roll the rest of the way!
