I forgot the best part of summer!!

In my earlier post about summer vactions, I forgot to mention the most exciting trip!!

Dad, Paul (one of his friends) and I are going to see Judas Priest and Whitesnake in concert on July 1st. I can't wait! I just love the feel of concerts, there is nothing quite like a bunch of rockers all in the same spot, enjoying the same type of music without a care in the world. I have enjoyed everyone that I've been to, and will continue to do so!

Busy Weekend

Hello everyone! I hope that everybody had a great weekend!

Friday- Mom and I went to Columbia to go to Sams to get chicken for the church dinner on Sunday. Dad was going to go but wasn't feeling very well, so we went by ourselves. We had a good time! We ate at Taco Bell on the way--I know fast food, but I figure I can treat myself when I go out of town, since I barely leave town--I tried the new chicken burrito. It was really good! It had rice, avocado ranch sauce, and chicken chunks. Very good and filling. I didn't buy anything at Sams, It would take me and Matt way to long to use a whole box of anything. At Walmart I bought a dress to go over my swimming suit. Its black and is really comfortable. I can't wait to go swimming!!

Saturday- Woke up and cleaned my entire house. I like to get my work done early so I can spend the rest of the weekend having fun! I went into town when I was finished and mowed mom and dads lawn and the Old Jail Musuem. I enjoy mowing, plus I love the smell of fresh cut grass :)
The night I didn't do too much. We had smoked prok chops, scalloped potatoes and a salad for dinner. And then I went into town to walk a couple of miles.

Sunday- Went to church in the morning. Then went to the church dinner afterwards for the graduates and confirmation kids. Everything was really good! They made smoked chicken and they had plenty of sides. I made twice baked potato casserole. I mentioned it before on here...if you can't tell already..twice baked potatoes are my favorite!! I had a good time!! Theres nothing quite like a church dinner.
After that, I went home to get a few things done. Then mom, dad and I went to the river to mow and clean up some. Matt came out around the time we were planning on eating. He had been in the hay fields all day. Dad made pork steaks, baked potatoes, and corn on the cob. Everything was really good. It was hard for me not to jump in the river, but I didn't have a change of clothes and the water was up a little still. But before too long I'll be in the water!

I am tracking my swimming suit I ordered from AE. It should be here anyday!! I can't wait to see how it looks!!

Overall it was a GREAT weekend!! Only problem...not enough hours in the day!! :)

Vacations

Instead of taking a big vacation, Matt and I decided just to take a few weekend trips.

Here are some of our ideas...

St. Louis is one of the towns we've chosen. I would love to live there, but since I'm married to a farmer that will probualy never happen! But I like going there to visit!
A few places we would like to visit: Botanical Gardens, Grants Farm and we will probualy find a few more places.

I would also like to go to Maramec Springs. Its so close and such a pretty place!

and of course we have to river the go to whenever we want and camp down there.

I just love summer!!

This weekend was wonderful! It was defidently nice to relax and take it easy for a couple of days!! Even though it rained, it was still a nice three day weekend!!

I went to a friends 21st b-day party on Saturday. It was a lot of fun! We had BBQ and then went to a couple of bars in Jeff. For me it was a new expirence, because I've never been to an actual bar, other than Hooks and thats part of a bowling alley. We had a lot of fun, and I can't wait to do it again!! Before I met up w/ Malinda and Julie, mom and I went shopping. I found a few summer dress clothes, no swimming suit (but I found one on online at AE, so I'm going to order it tonight), old navy was sold out of all of their $1 flip flops :( we had a good time spending the afternoon together.

I used to think these looked stupid, but they are actually comfortable and cheap.

Sunday- That afternoon, I ran over to Rolla to get groceries to stock the cabin w/. Matt and I went to the river for dinner. Even thought it was raining we still went and had a blast. We had hamburgers on the grill. I am so glad that its river season again!!

Memorial day- It rained ALL day!! But it was still nice to relax and take it easy all day!! For dinner Matt and I went to the river again and we invited mom and dad to eat with us. We had hamburgers again and brats. It was a good time!

Today- Back to work!! It is very quiet in the office today, which gives me plenty of time to surf the net!! Tonight I need to run to Oak Harvest (I love that place) and buy a gift for a bridal shower, and a belated gift for a friends b-day...I'm usually not a last minute person!! I am planning on walking 3 miles tonight and doing pilates after work....wish me luck!!

Other than the hamburgers at the river I ate pretty well this weekend. I have cut my snacking out, and am not eating anything after 6:30 pm. So that should help!!

Last night I put in my seeds to my garden. I just loved the way it looked all planted and ready to grow. I can't wait to see it all come up (hopefully). I still need to help dad plant the rest of their garden. But other than that, the first step to my garden is done. Now on to the hard part once it starts to grow. Lucky for me I actually like pulling weeds, so that part won't bother me:)

This weekend is Memorial weekend!! I am so excited to have Monday off! I'm not sure what I'm doing yet, but I won't be at work:)

Tonight I am probualy just going to walk around town, play with my animals, and take it easy!

Saturday- I have a friends 21st birthday party that night in Jefferson City. So I am going to try to get Malinda to go up a little early so I can get some summer dress clothes. All of my slacks are WAY to short. So if anybody knows a good place to get dress clothes let me know. I also need to get a swimming suit...I'm pretty sure that mine from last year isn't going to fit me again, but I haven't even tried it on.

The rest of the weekend I don't have any plans. I'd like to go to the river. Monday I'm going to do some tye dying. I am going to do some onzies, baby shirts, and some shirts for me. I really like doing it, but it takes a lot of time and I usually make a big mess. I will post pictures when I get done.

Last night I made sweet potato fries for dinner. I just put seasoned salt on them and baked them. They kept me pretty full because of all of the fiber I guess. Now that I am trying not to cook anything that has a lot of fat, poor matt is back to cooking his own dinner. But he is used to it, and he never complains.

I went and weighed my self at the church because they have one of the older most accurate scales. And I wasn't happy with my results. But with time hopefully that will change. I'm going to try at least.

What a Nice Night!!

Tonight was very productive!! After work, I went home and caught up on my house cleaning from the weekend. For dinner I made chicken breasts w/ shake n' bake coating. I moistened the chicken with egg whites instead of the whole egg to save on the fat. I also had chicken and wild rice mix. It was very good. It was hard to stay away from the junk food today (since this is the first whole day without junk food for me) but I tried to have the will power to stay away from it...this is gonna be hard!!

After dinner I came into town to help mom and dad put their garden in. We planted a lot of tomato plants. We are going to finish some night this week. Tomorrow night I am going to try to get my seeds in. I am also going to try to plant my catnip...I can't wait to see how my cats react to it!!

Already almost Wednesday!! And I have a three day weekend!! Its nice to have state holidays now :):)

Now that the wedding is over and life is getting back to normal, I decided it is time to lose some weight. I have gained a significant amount since I got married about 8 months ago. And I think that it is time to get into shape. Today for breakfast I had 2 eggs poached (I think that way tastes way better than fried, believe it or not!) and ham on whole wheat toast. It was very good and it filled me up all the way to lunch!! I found the best cooking show on Lifetime. Its called Cooking Yourself Thin. I love the show and the website. I am looking forward to fitting into my old jeans again!!

I Finally Have Time To Post!!

Life has been so busy lately!! But everything has been very good!! Here are some of the recent things that have kept me busy....

• My sister, Malinda and Mat had their wedding yesterday! We all had a great time and everything turned out really good! They headed to Branson today for their honeymoon. I hope that they have a great time. It was really nice to visit with everyone and see family from out of town. Overall it was a great start to the summer!!
• This week Grandma and Jim came up from Flordia. On Tuesday Matt and I had them and mom, dad, Mat and Malinda all over for a taco bar. Everything was very good and we enjoyed each others company. Wednesday we all had dinner at mom and dads house, we had smoked chicken. It was all very good!
• Friday the rehearsel dinner was at Argyle. The storms did come in but luckily we managed to not get too wet. They had a nice fish fry made for us. It was a good time also!!

Nonwedding related stuff....

• I finished the churches trash pickup.
• I planted my plants in my garden. I still need to do my seeds some night this week.
• My trees are all looking pretty good. I spent sometime outside today watering them and just enjoying the outdoors. I love evenings like that.
• I bought a hanging basket. It is a purple petunia. It completes my look for the house.
• We offically opened the cabin up. I helped clean it for company to stay in and it loos pretty good. It made me look forward even more to summer!!!
• I forgot to mention...I LOVE MY JOB!! I defidently made the right decision! My boss is so easy to work for and I really enjoy the atmosphere. And the sick leave, vacation and retirement is nice to!!!! Everything is falling into place so well!!

This week went by fast!!

-Wednesday was my last day at the store!! It was kind of bittersweet, But I think this was the best decision. It will be strange not coming into the store every morning and seeing everybody. It will be an adjustment..but it is that way with everything else in life too.

-My hair cut looks a little different..I got my bangs trimmed and about 3 inches cut off. I think it looks a lot better.

-Friday and Today dad and I went to the NHRA Drag Races in Madison, IL. We had a lot of fun!! Even though yesterday the races were called off because of the rain, we still had a good time visiting and spending time together. Today it didn't rain any and we were able to watch them. We had a lot of fun!! The weather wasn't too hot or to cold..that is the perfect weather!! I hope that we can go again next year!!!

-Tomorrow, I have a few last minute chores to do, need to mow the old jail, Catholic spring chicken dinner, and am going to try to pick up some trash...I picked up 1/2 of the churches road Thursday night...so it shouldn't take me too long to have it all of the way done.

-Monday---I start my new job!!! I am really excited and really looking forward to it!!....Wish me luck:):)

-It is now 2 weeks from Malinda's wedding!! Boy how time goes by!!...speaking of that...I need to go online right now to order their gift before it gets too late :)
