* My book is very good so far. I have only got through two chapters so far. Reading really does make time go by faster!!
*My garden is doing very good!! I have gotten a lot of jalapenos and banana peppers! I have also gotten quite a few cucumbers, grape tomatoes and squash. I am hoping to be able to make pickles pretty soon. And of course salsa, later on in the season.
*Matt's high school reunion is on Saturday. It is his 16th year out. They are combining three classes 93' 94' and 95'. I think it will be a good time, and Matt is looking forward to it. I think I am looking more forward to his reunion than I ever will any of mine.
*Saturday night is also the fundraiser my church does for Russell House in Rolla at the Eagles. I signed up to make two pies. I can't make the dinner, but I hope they have a good turn out! I am thinking about making two cookie trays instead of a pie. I'm not a big pie person!
*Since I will be busy all Saturday morning, I am going to keep caught up on my cleaning the next two days. I don't like having a dirty house when I go places.
*Sunday night, Malinda and I have planned an anniversary dinner for mom and dad. Their actual anniversary is Saturday. We are having at Malinda's house. I am going to bring a turkey to fry and fries, Malinda is making a garden salad. I have been craving Fried turkey for a while now!!
*Mom and I walked last night. The weather was wonderful. I might come in and walk tonight, but haven't decided yet.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week/weekend! :)

New Book
*Also when I was sick Sunday I watched a very good movie 'A Raisin in the Sun'. Everybody should watch this movie. It was better than I thought it would be. And P Diddy, Puff Daddy, Sean Combs...whatever he goes by these days, did a very good acting job!!

Weekend Recap!!
Saturday- I got up early and got all of my house cleaning done. That ended up being a good thing, because about 2:00 I got a headache. Around 5:00 I went into town to get ready to go to the river for dinner with mom and dad. It went away for a little while. We ate dinner, and hung out by the camp fire. On the way home my headache came back. I went to bed right once I got home at 10:30.
Sunday- I was planning on going to church, but I woke up with the worst migraine ever! I laid pretty much all morning. Matt got home from the cabin at 10:00, I missed him more than I thought I would, even though it was only a few days :). The day just got worse. I couldn't even keep water down. My headache went away, but I felt horrible all day. I decided to take Monday off, to rest up. That was a good idea. I feel a lot better today!
I hope everyone had a good weekend!

Wednesday
This week is flying by!! Bible school is going really good! We couldn't of asked for better kids!! Its kind of sad that we only have 3 more nights!
Tonight is Matt's last night at the house....well for the week :)....It is the 'cabin weekend'. A bunch of his friends get together and go to the river and stay at a cabin from Thursday-Saturday. I might go down in the evenings (haven't decided yet). But I know one thing is that I am looking forward to having the house to myself! In early high school I moved into my parents basement, and lived there until I got married. I really enjoyed time to myself. It was a big change from that to living side by side someone again. It hasn't been bad, but I like being alone everynow and then. So the rest of the week and the weekend should be a relaxing one!!

Looking Ahead...
*Monday-Thursday I have bible school. Malinda and I are teaching the 4 year old class. It is always a good time!
* On Friday, it is family night at church. They have their program and there are games and BBQ.
*Saturday I might be going on a float trip! ...I can't wait!!
*Sunday I have a baby shower for Matt's cousin. I don't know if I am going to attend, but I am in the process of making the gift..I will post pictures later.
I'm not used to having something to do everynight during the week. So this is a busy week for me!!
Saturday- I finished my house cleaning in the morning, did three loads of laundry (hung them on the line), helped mom and dad work at the old jail (trimmed branches, mowed, weed eated)..I mowed some and helped mom haul branches off. Then I went and mowed the 'poor farm'. It is a graveyard right past my Grandparents old house. Our family has mowed it for as long as I can remember. Matt went to a Cardinals game with some old college friends. He had a pretty great time! And the weather was perfect for it. Malinda and I went to Jeff to get some supplies for VBS. We ate dinner at Johnny's....they have the best roast beef! It was a very good day!!
Sunday- After church, I did a few things around the house. Mom, dad and I went to the river that afternoon. The water was a little cold...but I still swam! It was a good time! For dinner Matt brought us carry outs from the Knights' dinner in town. They had pulled pork, fried chicken and all the sides...the food was great and the company was even better!
Overall the weekend was perfect and the weather was beautiful!!

Weekend Recap....(a few days late!)
Sunday I went to church that morning. It was a nice service and the best part was the sound of rain on the roof. Such a calming sound. There is nothing quite like it. I felt so secure, such a good feeling.
That evening we went to the cabin that night for dinner again. The meal was very good once again. We had prime rib, twice baked potatoes (that I made) and baked beans. For dessert we had homemade ice cream, with all the toppings. Oreos, reese pieces, m&ms, caramel, hot fudge, frozen peaches and brownie chunks. It was a perfect night!
I think that everyone had a great weekend. It was so much fun to have vistors to the cabin. Hopefully they will continue to come every year!

Weekend Plans
Tonight- I am going to pick more blackberries. Maybe come in and walk if the weather is nice.
Saturday- I want to paint a few spots in my bathroom and hallway. And a few more chores. I am also going to make my cobbler. I haven't decided what day I am going to make my jelly yet. For dinner we are going out to the cabin for a fish fry. Everybody should be in today to spend the weekend at the cabin. I am looking forward to seeing everyone!
Sunday- Going to church and then a dinner afterwards. I haven't decided on my side dish yet. I don't have much planned for the afternoon. Although, I do want to work in some time to work in the garden. For dinner we are going out to the cabin for steaks.
I think it will be a good weekend!
I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend!

A Quick Note
We had a great time and need to do stuff like that more often!
Tonight I am going to Chris's to pick blackberries. I am going to make a cobbler and try to make some jelly. I figured that jelly would make a good addition to Chirstmas gifts.
I'll let you know how everything turns out!
I hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

This Week...
So Malinda and I are going to take her out to eat at Margie's Cafe. I think she will like the gift I got her :)
Wednesday- I am going to go to my brother-in-laws and pick some blackberries for a cobbler I want to make this weekend. We have a bush right a long our fence line at the house, but not enough to make a cobbler....speaking of stuff growing...I looked at my garden and its looking pretty good!! My banana peppers and green peppers are almost ready. And my jalapenos, and grape tomatoes are ready! All the rest of the plants are growing good!! I can't wait to see how they look in a few weeks!!
Thursday- Matt and I are going to do some work in the garden. The weeds are taking over!!
This weekend we are having family down from out of state. 5 kids and 5 adults. They are all staying at the cabin. We look forward to their visit every year. It should be a good time! And I am actually going to get some pictures this time!!
I hope everyone has a great week!!
Weekend Recap!
Friday- Did some house cleaning in the morning. And then went to a friends house to watch the firework show in Freeburg. The fireworks were great....and so was the meal! I made dirt cake (I put it in a sand bucket and served it with a sand shovel) and a little dish of twice baked potato casserole. I was planning on taking pictures of them to post...but yeah..didn't get around to it. Maybe next time!! :)
Saturday- Happy 4th of July! Matt and I went in to eat at Karen's annual breakfast at her house. We had biscuits and gravy, eggs, hash brown casserole, pancakes, donuts, and sausage. Very good!!! I love breakfast food!! After that, I finished my house cleaning.
Matt and I went over to mom and dads for dinner. Everything was really good! We had pork, fresh garden salad, corn on the cob, potatoes w/ bacon and onion (cooked on the grill)-I love those!..For dessert we had homemade ice cream! Dad mixed chopped oreos in it. So it was like 'cookies and cream'. It was very good! You just can't beat ice cream! :-)
After dinner we went to Matt's aunt and uncles house to watch more fireworks. The kids were having a blast. It was a good time also!
Sunday- Went to church that morning, wonderful sermon, as always!!
It was kinda cloudy all day and I had all my house cleaning done, so I decided to make a trip to Rolla to get a few groceries. Malinda went along for the ride. We had a good time! We ate lunch at Taco Bell...yummy!!
When we got back I went home for a little while and then came back in town to walk 2 miles with Malinda. I need to get back into my walking routine!!
It was a GREAT weekend. Spending time with family and just enjoying life. I have no complaints!

Saturday- Not sure what I'm doing. I would like to go to the river. The water felt so good this week!! We will probably have dinner with the family that night.
Sunday- After church I don't have much planned!! I need to do some work in the garden and probably some mowing.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and have fun watching the fireworks!!!

Judas Priest/Whitesnake Concert
Wednesday, July 01, 2009
Welcome Home!!

Random
*Tonight I am heading to a concert!! Judas Priest and Whitesnake!! I can't wait!! I am leaving work at 2:00, but the concert isn't until 7:00. In other words...I am going to be tired tomorrow morning!! I'm lucky I have off Friday to catch up on my sleep!!
*I have found a new favorite cereal, cinnamon toast crunch. I'm not a big fan of cereal, but everynow and then I have cravings for it. It is such an easy breakfast. I like my bacon, eggs and toast, but all of that takes time!! :)
Well thats my randomness for the day!! I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!!
