New Ice Cream
I have found a new favorite ice cream! It is Blue Bunny's All Natural Vanilla. I have been on a vanilla ice cream kick lately. And it was the same price as the regular kinds, so I thought I'd give it a try. It is extremely creamy and has vanilla bean specks. And just to let you know, I am not going all natural or anything like that! I just wanted to try something new! You should give it a try!
This Week...
Today- After work Malinda and I are going to head to the book sale in town and hopefully get a few more. I am making jambalaya for dinner tonight. I haven't decided if I am coming into town to walk tonight or not.
The fair starts on Wednesday. We will probably be going every night. We usually just sit and watch the contests and walk around and look at the booths. The fair just isn't as much fun as it used to be to me. In a few years that will all be different though! :)
Speaking of the fair..I still need to get my season passes! I am usually on top of things, but for some reason I keep forgetting about it this time.
Other than the fair and book sale, I am going to have a pretty plain week!
I hope everyone makes it out to the fair!!

Weekend Recap
Friday- Malinda and I ran to Rolla. We went to Big Lots, Aldis, and Walmart. We had a great time together!
Saturday- I got up really early to start the laundry and hang it before I left for the book sale. The book sale was a success! I found a lot of nice children's books and a few pregnancy books. It was pretty crowded, so we are planning on going back this week again. I then went to Malinda's house to get some stuff that we saved from the fire at my Grandpa and Grandma's old house. I washed the items I got up nicely and they look brand new! That evening, Matt went to a fish fry at the river with some of his friends. The rest of us went to the cabin to have dinner. Dad made ribs...they were so good! Malinda and I swam a little bit, but it was a little cold!
Sunday- After church, Malinda and I ate lunch at a local restaurant. That afternoon I did a few things around the house. That afternoon I went into town to watch Mom and Dad can relish. It turned out really good I think! Mat and Malinda were planning on going to Rolla that evening, so I went along for the ride. We had a good time!
After we got back from Rolla, the rest of the evening was smooth sailing!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Weekend Plans!
Tonight- After work I want to get my house cleaning done. Then, Malinda and I are going to run to Rolla for a little bit. I tried to convince her to watch the new Halloween movie, but that didn't work :) !
Tomorrow- I am getting up early and going to the book sale in town. I am hitting the children's books big time. But I don't want to buy too many, since the library in town has so many nice books to borrow. I would hate to not take advantage of having a library in town. Not sure what I am doing the rest of the day. Probably go to the river with the dogs.
Sunday- Other than church, I have nothing planned! I can't complain about that!!
From what I hear the weather this weekend is supposed to be b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l!! I can't wait!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Halloween II
Halloween II is coming out this weekend in theaters. I loved the first one Rob Zombie made, and I am sure I will love this one! Although, you can't beat the original Halloween movies!

I am so glad that I don't have to keep the previous post secret anymore! I was so anxious to tell everyone! Now, my blog is going to be a lot different. I actually have something interesting and exciting to blog about! I am looking forward to sharing my decorating ideas and thoughts with everyone!
My aunt Pat got me a 'pregnancy calendar' from Hallmark. I love it! It goes by weeks instead of days. It also has little stickers in the back of it that you can put wherever u want. Such as: doctors appointments, found out what we were having, announced the big news, baby shower, first heard baby's heart beat, and lots of other ones. I am already having fun filling it in! I can't find a good picture of it on their website so I will take pictures of it later this week and post them!
If you haven't heard yet...
Matt and I are expecting!!!
We are due February 17th!
We couldn't be more excited! And we are looking forward to the future!

Top 12 Most Annoying Facebookers
I read this on cnn and couldn't help but share. If you don't use facebook than this won't make much sense. But anybody who is on facebook could probably link a 'friend' to each number.
#1. The Let-Me-Tell-You-Every-Detail-of-My-Day Bore. "I'm waking up." "I had Wheaties for breakfast." "I'm bored at work." "I'm stuck in traffic." You're kidding! How fascinating! No moment is too mundane for some people to broadcast unsolicited to the world. Just because you have 432 Facebook friends doesn't mean we all want to know when you're waiting for the bus.
#2The Self-Promoter. OK, so we've probably all posted at least once about some achievement. And sure, maybe your friends really do want to read the fascinating article you wrote about beet farming. But when almost EVERY update is a link to your blog, your poetry reading, your 10k results or your art show, you sound like a bragger or a self-centered careerist.
#3 The Friend-Padder. The average Facebook user has 120 friends on the site. Schmoozers and social butterflies -- you know, the ones who make lifelong pals on the subway -- might reasonably have 300 or 400. But 1,000 "friends?" Unless you're George Clooney or just won the lottery, no one has that many. That's just showing off.
#4 The Town Crier. "Michael Jackson is dead!!!" You heard it from me first! Me, and the 213,000 other people who all saw it on TMZ. These Matt Drudge wannabes are the reason many of us learn of breaking news not from TV or news sites but from online social networks. In their rush to trumpet the news, these people also spread rumors, half-truths and innuendo. No, Jeff Goldblum did not plunge to his death from a New Zealand cliff.
#5 The TMIer. "Brad is heading to Walgreens to buy something for these pesky hemorrhoids." Boundaries of privacy and decorum don't seem to exist for these too-much-information updaters, who unabashedly offer up details about their sex lives, marital troubles and bodily functions. Thanks for sharing.
#6 The Bad Grammarian. "So sad about Fara Fauset but Im so gladd its friday yippe". Yes, I know the punctuation rules are different in the digital world. And, no, no one likes a spelling-Nazi schoolmarm. But you sound like a moron.
#7 The Sympathy-Baiter. "Barbara is feeling sad today." "Man, am I glad that's over." "Jim could really use some good news about now." Like anglers hunting for fish, these sad sacks cast out their hooks -- baited with vague tales of woe -- in the hopes of landing concerned responses. Genuine bad news is one thing, but these manipulative posts are just pleas for attention.
#8 The Lurker. The Peeping Toms of Facebook, these voyeurs are too cautious, or maybe too lazy, to update their status or write on your wall. But once in a while, you'll be talking to them and they'll mention something you posted, so you know they're on your page, hiding in the shadows. It's just a little creepy.
#9 The Crank. These curmudgeons, like the trolls who spew hate in blog comments, never met something they couldn't complain about. "Carl isn't really that impressed with idiots who don't realize how idiotic they are." [Actual status update.] Keep spreading the love.
#10 The Paparazzo. Ever visit your Facebook page and discover that someone's posted a photo of you from last weekend's party -- a photo you didn't authorize and haven't even seen? You'd really rather not have to explain to your mom why you were leering like a drunken hyena and French-kissing a bottle of Jagermeister.
#11 The Maddening Obscurist. "If not now then when?" "You'll see..." "Grist for the mill." "John is, small world." "Dave thought he was immune, but no. No, he is not." [Actual status updates, all.] Sorry, but you're not being mysterious -- just nonsensical.
#12 The Chronic Inviter. "Support my cause. Sign my petition. Play Mafia Wars with me. Which 'Star Trek' character are you? Here are the 'Top 5 cars I have personally owned.' Here are '25 Things About Me.' Here's a drink. What drink are you? We're related! I took the 'What President Are You?' quiz and found out I'm Millard Fillmore! What president are you?"
* My favorites would have to be #1, #6, and if I went out a lot it would be #10 also. But I like them all!

This Weekend...
Tonight, Malinda needs to get a few things from Rolla, so I thought I'd ride with her. Maybe I can get her to get at Panera...doubt it. I have been trying to get her to go there the last few times we've went places, but she never goes for that. I love that place! Even though I haven't been there very much.
Saturday- Lots of house cleaning, going to the river and dinner at the cabin. Might be a little cold to swim, but I am probably going to swim anyway...I love the water!
Sunday-After church, Malinda and I are going down to the cabin to have lunch. We haven't done that in a while. We are going to take the dogs with us. Speaking of dogs...there is a stray around our house...Rascal is not a fan of it. Luckily I have only actually seen it once, but I'm pretty sure it comes over when we aren't home. Then today, there was a coyote about 20 feet from the fence. Our dog was barking like crazy. Rascal is pretty brave for as small as he is..small and mighty I guess!
The weather is beautiful today!! It is hard to sit inside when it is that nice outside! I guess I only have a couple more hours left! I hope everyone has a good weekend!

I think I will start wearing tennis shoes more...
I read this on msn this morning. It makes me want to throw away all my flip flops! The University of Miami emergency mobile flip-flop lab did a study on the germs of flip flops. On just one pair there were more than 18,000 bacteria on one pair!

New T.V. Show
There is a new show on A&E. The show is called 'Hoarders'. It really makes you think about what people are going through when they have that condition. The first episode was last night. One of the ladies was 68 years old. She had an obsession with buying food and keeping it even when it was spoiled. She had old pumpkins and fruit all over her house. And had to put duck tape on the freezer to keep it shut. I can't imagine what that must be like to go through. It is a show that I will be watching every week that I can. You should check it out!
Here are some examples of hoarding..scary isn't it?

Gran Torino
Walt Kowalski is a widower who holds onto his prejudices despite the changes in his Michigan neighborhood and the world around him. Kowalski is a grumpy, tough-minded, unhappy old man, who can't get along with either his kids or his neighbors, a Korean War veteran whose prize possession is a 1972 Gran Torino he keeps in mint condition. When his neighbor Thao, a young Hmong teenager under pressure from his gang member cousin, tries to steal his Gran Torino, Kowalski sets out to reform the youth. Drawn against his will into the life of Thao's family, Kowalski is soon taking steps to protect them from the gangs that infest their neighborhood.

This is one of the movies that Matt and I got from Netflix this past week. We loved it! Clint Eastwood does such a good job at everything he does. It is actually a movie that I would want to watch more than just once. There aren't too many movies like that anymore.

This Week...
Tonight I need to freeze more peppers and work more in the garden. My okra is about ready!
Wednesday night I need to make taco dip for a birthday party for my boss on Thursday.
This coming weekend Malinda and I are going to spend the night at the cabin! I am looking forward to it!
I have a feeling that this is going to be a good week! :)

Weekend Recap!!
This weekend was a lot of fun!
Malinda and I took Rascal (my dog) and her dog (Lucky) to the river both Saturday and Sunday. Rascal loved the water! And he was wore out last night when we got home! Lucky is more of a 'on land' kind of dog. But she got used to being in the water eventually. Saturday night we all had dinner at the cabin for dad's birthday. We had steak, baked potatoes, sliced garden tomatoes, corn on the cob, and dairy queen cake for dessert. Everything was so good! And everyone had a great time!
I can't honestly say I got any big projects done this weekend...but we had a lot of fun...and I think thats more important than working all weekend! :)
Here is what we got dad for his birthday. Malinda and I went in together to get it. It will definitely get used!

A few random things going on here...
*Mom, dad and I all went swimming Saturday and Sunday. The water felt wondeful! It was a good time had by all. Saturday was also a special day, it was the 41st anniversary of our cabin!
*Mom, dad and I made salsa last night. It turned out pretty good I think. Malinda and Mat took care of the pickles this year. I need to freeze more banana peppers and jalapenos tonight...they grow really fast!
*Tonight I have a dinner date with mom and Malinda. I am making fettuccini alfredo with chicken. It is a Macaroni Grill meal, so even though its store bought it tastes like its homemade. I am looking forward to it!
*School starts for the kids tomorrow. All I can think is how glad I am I don't have to go to high school anymore!! Next to my wedding of course, graduation is up there with one of my happiest memories!!
*Malinda started her new job Monday. I hope she likes it!! :)
*Dad's birthday was yesterday. We are celebrating Saturday if everything goes according to plan. I can't wait!
*My boss just left for a trip to Colorado. She won't be back till the 20th. It makes me think of the fun family trips that we have taken throughout the years. We've been to Colorado, Wyoming, countless trips to Nebraska, lots of trips to Branson, and lots of other places, Not to even all the concerts and drag races I've been to with dad. That was so much fun. I hope that I can give my kids the same experiences that my parents gave me. Wouldn't change those memories for anything.
*I am trying to get rid of a cold. I know...a cold in August...just doesn't seem right! I think I will be back to normal in a few days.
I hope everybody is having a good week so far!

Weekend Plans!
I don't have much planned for this weekend!
Tonight I am going to come in and walk around town with mom.
Saturday- I am going to do a little house cleaning in the morning. Then come in and help mom around the house. It is going to be awfully hot, so unless I go to the river to swim, I probably will spend most of my day in doors!
Sunday- After church, I am going to make my way to Brinktown for a get together for Matt's family. I think I am making make-ahead potatoes.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!
And if you are planning on doing back to school shopping, or just shopping for clothes, you should take advantage of the tax free weekend! What a good deal is that!?!

Random
*Tuesday night I froze two gallons of banana peppers and three gallons of jalapenos. It wasn't as much work to do peppers as it is to can greenbeans, pickles or salsa. So it didn't take me too long. I picked more cucumbers and tomatoes on Tuesday to. There were a few cucumbers that I wanted to get a little bigger, they should be ready tonight. It is kinda crazy to think those little seeds can get that big and produce so much.
*Yesterday, after I got off work, Malinda and I went to Columbia. We bought mom and dads anniversary gift and his birthday gift. I was afraid I was going to have to get gift cards, but we were able to find actual gifts. We went to Macy's, Bass Pro, and Walmart. We ate dinner at Red Lobster. I don't go there very much, so I was very confused when it came to their menu, I ended up ordering the same thing Malinda got :)...you can't go wrong with shrimp I guess! Also, I was very proud of myself. I am a major coupon user...I never make a trip to Walmart without atleast one coupon. I had one for $4.00 off at Red Lobster, and I ended up saving $15.00 at Walmart. So rounded up I saved $20.00 yesterday! Impressive, huh? :)
*Mom and Malinda are enjoying their last few days of summer vacation. I can't believe that summer is almost over! It seems to go by faster every year...
*My book is going good. Time goes by so much faster when you read! The book sale is coming up in town, I am planning on finding a few more to last me through winter.
*Today for lunch mom is making tacos. Malinda is also going to be there for lunch. I love mexican food! Although, nothing is better than a steak and baked potato :)
I hope everyone is having a good Thursday so far!

This week....
*Tonight I want to freeze some peppers. And work in the garden some more. I would like to wash and clean out my car to.
*Wednesday- Malinda and I are going to go to Columbia when I get off work. I am looking forward to it! I don't have much at all to buy, but I love browsing!! I do need to get mom and dad an anniversary gift and dad a birthday gift (what do u buy someone that has pretty much everything?)
*I also need to find time to take care of the blackberries I picked. I stuck them in the freezer because I was too busy to mess with them. Maybe this weekend I can make some jelly!
*Tonight for dinner I am making chili. I was kinda craving some last night, but didn't have any hamburger thawed out. Even though it is hot outside I am making some, even if I sound crazy...
Not too much else going on here! I hope everyone has a good week!

Friday- I finished a lot of my house cleaning and walked around town. It wasn't too late when I got back from my walk so I decided to go ahead and make the cookie dough, that way all I would have to do was bake it. I made 3 batches, snickerdoodle (my favorite), sugar and chocolate chip. I used mini chocolate chips because I was out of the regular ones. They ended up being better that way I think.
Saturday- I woke up early and did some laundry and other things around the house. Matt's reunion started at 2:00, but I wasn't going till about 5:00. So I had plently of time to bake my cookies for the fundraiser. I had Malinda take my cookies out there for me. The pie auction went really well from what I hear. The reunion was a lot of fun! It was neat to see how much people have changed since high school. We didn't end up leaving until 3:00....yes 3:00!! Too late for Sarah to stay out!! But Matt was having fun visting with his old friends and catching up, and he would of done the same thing for me.
Sunday- I was supposed to be an usher at church Sunday. But dad stepped in my place for me this time. The rest of the afternoon was pretty uneventful. For dinner we went to Malinda's house for fried turkey. It was wonderful, and we all had a good time!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!!
