Nursery is Painted & Bedding Has Arrived!!!

Here are some before and after pictures of the nursery painted!! I think the color turned out good--I always hate picking out paint--it is so hard to imagine the color on a whole wall! We also ordered the train bedding from Land of Nod. It is even cuter than I thought it would be! Now it is time to start loading up on baby stuff--okay, maybe I can wait until after the baby shower to see what we will actually need before I buy anything! :)

Before
After

Now a pretty blue!

The bedding background and the paint matched perfectly!! I couldn't' believe it!!
The detail is unreal! Worth every penny!

The reverse side! I love the bright colors!!
I absolutely love our decision!!!!

Christmas Recap, Decorations, Presents!!

Work has been really busy the last few days, it is tax season I guess :)

So I haven't had much time to blog, email or facebook lately. So I am playing catch up...here is a recap and some pictures of everything to do with our Christmas's.

Here is a recap of the weekend...

*Thursday (Christmas Eve), we went to dinner at Mom and Dad's house. We had chili, chicken noodle soup, a vegetable tray, cheese ball, peanut clusters, and I made a four layer dessert. The chili is a family tradition, we have always had chili on Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember. We went to the Methodist church and then came back and opened presents. We had a good time! And I got some awesome gifts (see pictures below).

*Friday, Matt went to church that morning. We were going to go to Midnight Mass, but I was way too tired, and plus, we didn't really want to have to get out in the cold again. We went to the Rowden's event that afternoon. I made a New York Cheesecake. It must of been good, because they ate it all!

*Saturday, during the morning and afternoon, I didn't do too much, just relaxed quite a bit. That evening we had another Christmas at Ron and Liz's. She made the best beef brisket, and all the sides to go with it. We had a good time!!

*Sunday, I went to church that morning, and then headed to another-and final- Christmas. This one was at Matt's Mom's side. They baked a ham, which was very good. I brought twice baked potato casserole. We stayed there pretty much all afternoon. I have to admit, I do enjoy the get togethers way more than I used to!!

Even though it probably sounds like we were busy the Christmas, I didn't get stressed out at all, I kind of just took it easy and tried not to get worked up about what I was going to bring to the events and what my house looked like. It made the holiday's way more enjoyable!

*Enjoy the pictures!

Grandma gave Malinda and I both copies for the Maries County History Books. We also got the cemetery book also. I used to look at these books all of the time. Matt enjoyed looking at them when we got home!

Part of Malinda and Mat's gift to us was some folding chairs! Notice there is a small one also, we won't be able to use it for a while, but ti is adorable! They will come in handy for summers at the river!

This is a framed picture that Matt got from Mom and Dad. You probably can't tell from the picture too well, but it has John Deere tractors, kids playing, etc. We are going to hang it in the living room!

Here is a variety of some of my gifts I got!

Here are all of our Christmas cards that we got!

One of my gifts from Mom and Dad was this comforter! I love it!! I plan on buying the pillow shams to go along with it also.

Of course, I had to wrap presents for the pets. Here is a assortment of what I got them!

Rascal loved the stuffed beaver!

Here is our Nativity Scene!

My Aunt Pat and Uncle Barry bought us this for our wedding. It adds a lot to the decor outside!
Our wreath!

Our stockings! Mose has a handmade one, made by Pat. It is adorable!

I didn't have enough room to hang them all together. Here are the other animal's stockings!

Our Christmas tree!
Mose loved hiding under the tree!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Right now, we are pretty sure that we are going to go with Tyler, but you never know, that could change.

Birthing Class Review

I was very impressed with everything that we learned Saturday at the Birthing Class. We learned about a lot of things that we didn't even think about yet. We watched a very thorough power point presentation and we had the best instructor. There were only 5 other couples, which was better than a whole room full of people. One of the best things was, we were supposed to have class in the assembly hall, which has folding chairs, but it ended up the instructor couldn't get her projector to work in there so we had to have it in the board room, which had reclining chairs! So we were 100% comfortable the whole time! We got to see a room like we will be in. It made it so much more real to see where we will be when we meet our son for the first time! I am looking forward to it even more now...which is a good thing..since I am almost 32 weeks along!

Random Stuff

*Monday was my work's Christmas party. They provide the meat and we bring in sides. I made a crock pot of mashed potatoes. I was trying to figure something to bring to it all week and couldn't decide. I figured I wanted to bring something simple and easy to heat up. You can't beat potatoes in my opinion!

* Today is Matt's work's Christmas party. I made him peanut butter chocolate chip cookies to take along with a cheese ball. I think everything turned out pretty good!

*Yesterday was my 31 week appointment. It was supposed to be at 3:30, but during lunch they called to see if I could come in at 2:15 instead. Matt wasn't going to be able to leave work and make it there in time so I was going to go by myself. I went to school to borrow Malinda's cell phone. For those if you that don't know, I don't have a cell phone. I don't really see the need for a majority of people to have one. But I didn't want to go to Jeff by myself without a phone. When I got there Malinda decided to go with me. We made it up there just in time, and the appointment didn't take very long at all. Everything is still looking good!! :)

*After we left the doctors we went to Lowe's to pick up a poinsettia for Mom to take to church. On the way out of town we stopped by Subway to get dinner! I love Subway!

*I can't believe that Christmas is next week!! I am so glad I have everything done and ready!

*Saturday from 9-4:30 we have a Birthing Class at St. Mary's. I'm not dreading it too much. I am willing to learn anything they have to offer. We will be missing our niece's 3rd birthday party that afternoon. I hate to miss it, but hopefully I will get to see a few pictures afterwards.

*I have been asked lately about food cravings. The only thing that has changed in the last month or so is that I am in love with fruit! Oranges...kiwis...red delicious apples...I can't get enough of them! I hope this continues after the baby is born!! :)
My favorite drink of choice nowadays is Crystal Light Lemonade. I drink probably a gallon a day. It makes me feel so much more energized that soda does! I am glad I kicked the soda habit :)

*I hope everyone is having a good week so far!

Genies Recipe & Weekend Recap!

Our trip went wonderful this past weekend, and Matt is very glad to not have to wear glasses anymore! :)

Here is the recipe for the Genies I made for the Christmas party on Saturday. They turned out pretty good! You can't beat anything with chocolate and peanut butter in it!!

Genies

*I'm not sure who the first person was to get this recipe. I think a lady at church, Sharon.
1 1/2 c. crunchy peanut butter

7 c. crisp rice cereal

Melt 1 pkg. chocolate chips and 1 pkg. butterscotch chips in a double boiler (or microwave). Bring to hard boil, but do not boil.

Mix 1 c. sugar and 1 c. white syrup into peanut butter mixture. Pat into greased sheet cake pan. Spread chocolate mixture on top. Cut right away into squares.

The rest of the weekend was pretty uneventful. I finished my Christmas shopping on Sunday. I need to finish wrapping tonight. Then I can say I am officially done!! :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! :)

'Holy' Cow!

Moses, a Jersey-Holstein calf at Brad Davis and Megan Johnson's farm in Sterling, Conn has a white marking on its forehead in the approximate shape of a cross.

This cow was born this past week at a Connecticut dairy farm. People are saying it is a Holy Cow, and have named him Moses. The owner said that he is going to make sure he has a nice life and isn't eaten.

I thought is was kinda neat!

Random Stuff and Weekend Plans!!

Right now I am sitting in the lobby of the Hampton Inn in Chesterfield. Matt had Lasik Eye surgery done this morning. And I took off work to go with him. Everything went really well. He has to sleep for 6 hours after the surgery. So I decided to take the lab top to the lobby and take advantage of the wireless Internet connection. I was really proud of myself, seeing as how I drove us up here! I haven't even drove to Jefferson City too many times, because when I do go to Jeff someone is always going with me, so they always drive. So this was quite the experience for me!!
Matt has an appointment tomorrow morning at 7:30 to get his eyes checked out before we head home. He was really looking forward to getting rid of his glasses. I am really happy that he was able to get this procedure done.
As for some random stuff....
*Matt and I had a breastfeeding class on Wednesday night. It was very informative and we learned a lot. It was worth our time to go. I am also glad Matt went with me. It is nice to have a supportive husband that wants to be included in stuff like that.
* I have all of my Christmas cards wrote and sent off! What a good feeling that is! I still need to add to two gifts, but that shouldn't take me too long. Other than that, all that I have left to do is enjoy the holiday season!!
Weekend Plans....
* You already know where I am going to be tonight and tomorrow morning.
We should get some some time mid morning tomorrow. Tomorrow evening we have a Christmas party to attend. I am going to make Genies to take. I'm not sure what the name means. They are just like peanut butter chocolate bars. Very good...and rich!!
* Sunday, I haven't decided if I want to go to church yet or not. There isn't going to be a sermon or anything. It is just the children's Christmas Program. So, I wouldn't get too much out of it.
I don't have any other plans! What a great feeling!!! :)
I hope everyone has a great weekend...and try to stay warm!!

Weekend Rewind!

Friday- After work, Malinda and I ran to Jeff so I could register. I was going to try to do it all online, but I wanted to see analyze everything before I picked anything out. It went pretty good. I need to add some more stuff online that the store didn't carry. We had a fun spending time together. And I also bought the paint for the baby's room. The name of it is Himalayan Poppy, sounds kind of strange, but it is just a fancy name for light blue. I can't wait to see it all painted!

Saturday- I didn't get much done at all. I am trying to not be so critical about my house cleaning. It is working good so far :) . I got a few things done in the morning. I then wrote my Christmas cards as I watched a movie. That evening I went into visit with Mom and Malinda while Matt was at church. For dinner Matt and I went to a Chinese restaurant in Rolla. It was very good! And it was nice to spend time with him. We don't go out to eat very much at all, so that was nice also! :)

We ran by Wal-mart on the way to get some fabric that I ran out of for a project I have been doing. I couldn't believe it, but I actually went right to the fabric section in Wal-mart and right back out...that doesn't happen very often :)

Sunday- I went to church this morning. Us girls went to eat lunch at Margie's. The food was good, and we had a good time! I then went to do my weekly grocery shopping. After I got home, I swept my floors and cleaned our bathroom. I also made some sugar cookies-my favorite! :)

For dinner I had tomato soup and a grilled cheese, a perfect meal on a cold night! I am spending the rest of the evening relaxing!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!! :)

Why we can't leave anything on our counters....

I poured a glass of milk for dinner the other night, I had forgotten that we can't leave anything out if Mose is around. Needless to say I poured myself a new glass :)
I just had to snap a shot of Mose enjoying his snack! :)

29 Week Appointment

Yesterday, we had my 29th week appointment. Which means I had my Glucose Test. Your probably thinking that it was a drag, but it was actually went pretty good! Since a lot of the doctors were out there wasn't anyone else in the waiting room, and almost all of the rooms were dark. So we got right in! They first gave me the stuff I had to drink for the test, which actually tasted kinda good, kinda like a melted orange ice pop. We then went to see the nurse practitioner and she measured my belly and checked the heart beat. Everything is looking great and right on track! After we met with her we had to wait the rest of the hour that was left before they could draw my blood. It felt like we had barley sat down and they were calling me back to draw me! If the results don't look good they have to do additional testing. But if I don't get a call before my next appointment, than everything turned out normal.
My next appointment is on December 15th, now I will be going every two weeks. I can't believe how fast time has been going by! Only 3 more months and we will get to meet our son!! We can't wait!! :)
