Yard Sale Finds!
Weekend Recap!
Friday- I didn't do too much at all after work. It was a quiet evening!
Saturday- Went to the going out of business sale - found lots of gifts for anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, etc. I also found Tyler a small table and 2 chairs. I decided on not buying the kitchen table. I talked to a few people and they said I wouldn't want anything with groves. But we have plenty of time to find a different one.
That afternoon we watched Caleb. It was fun, but next time I want to know ahead of time so we can plan something to do. There just isn't much for a 9 year old boy to do at my house!!
That evening, we went to a bachelor/bachelorette party for Matt's cousin. I made broccoli cauliflower salad. It was a good evening with friends & family!
Sunday- I went to church in the morning. Afterwards I did my grocery shopping for the week.
That afternoon, Malinda and I went to the cabin to get it ready for the season! Mom and Dad came too. We were able to get a lot of the cleaning done!!! I can't wait for river season to start--as soon as the water goes down! :)
That evening, I made tator tot casserole - don't ask me why I turned on the oven and didn't grill something- I just felt like tator tot casserole!! After dinner, Tyler and I went into town to walk around town, and Mom joined us!
Monday (Memorial Day) - We had a quiet morning around the house. For lunch, Malinda, Tyler and I went to the cabin. We had fried chicken, potato salad, chips & brownies with ice cream for dessert! Mom and Dad came down too. I even took Rascal!! He behaved real well!!
We played in Tyler's small pool and just enjoyed the afternoon. Malinda and I even got in the water!! It was freezing-- but fun!!
Afterwards, Tyler and I went to Malinda's house to help her sort through her closets!!
That afternoon, we had leftovers for dinner. Afterwards, I went to the cemetery to look at all the flowers on the graves.

Chalkboard Paint?!
Am I the only one who just found out that chalkboard paint exists??
I am stoked! Because I was wanting a few small chalkboards to hang on the walls in Tyler's playroom! But painting a few on the wall is going to be awesome!
And it's easy to find. I got the idea from Lowe's Creative Ideas magazine. And you can find it here on their website.
Here are some ideas I found online!
They even make it in color too!
Kind of different!

This week has flown by!
* Malinda, a friend and I went to a couple of yard sales last night. I was able to find some gently used toys to leave at the cabin this summer, and a few other things. I will try to post a picture of my finds later today!
* I also went to a yard sale this morning. I found what I think they call a 'breakfast cart'. I am going to put it in the garage to store stuff in. Should come in handy!
* Tyler hasn't slept the best the last couple of days. We are thinking it is his teeth bothering him. Since we noticed a couple of new ones coming through this week. Hopefully they quit bothering him soon!
* We had a different kind of afternoon on Wednesday. I went to the bank to do the deposit and the tornado sirens went off. So I spent an hour or so in the vault with the bank workers! It sure made for a eventful afternoon!
Weekend Plans..
Today- I am going to have lunch with Mom- it's her last day of teaching kids-ever! : )
Tonight I am going to go get my cart and also get a desk from Mom's that I am going to use for my scrap booking stuff.
Saturday- Going to the going out of business sale at the local store I was telling you about earlier. Then I might go to an auction. That evening, we are going to a bachelor/bachelorette party.
Sunday- no plans except for church! We might go get the cabin ready for the season.
Monday-Memorial Day- no plans! Maybe finish up at the cabin and relax around the house!!
I hope everyone has a great Memorial weekend!

Kitchen Table
A local store is going out of business. I love all their furniture, and was planning on getting our kitchen table from them when we built on to the house.
I am contemplating buying one now, and just storing it until then. But I'm still undecided...
It's a REALLY nice table. But it does have stone on part of the top- which I think looks really neat- but with messy kids- I'm not sure that is really practical when it comes to cleaning it (since it has groves in it). Get what I mean??!
You can kind of see the stone in the picture.
I just don't want to spend a lot of money on something that might not work for us.
So I ask you, my blog readers, for your opinions!!
I really do value your thoughts!! Thanks in advance!!

Thursday Thirteen
I was going to make this a separate post, but I figured I might as well make this my Thursday Thirteen!
Tyler woke up really early yesterday morning. So I turned on the TV to have some background noise while I was playing with Tyler before we got ready to leave. And I found Boy Meets World!! Remember that show??! I had forgotten all about it!! I always loved it. And it made me think of doing a post on my favorite TV shows from when I was younger!
So here we go.. thirteen shows that I used to enjoy watching!
1. Boy Meets World. Wish they made shows like this still!!

2. The Wonder Years. Still remember the theme song!
3. Baywatch. I was always wanted to be Pamela. Well, before the lip injections and extreme plastic surgery!

4. The Brady Bunch. Who didn't love the Brady Bunch?!
5. Saved By The Bell. Wish my high school experience was like the show!
6. 7th Heaven. This show was good. But the older I got, I remember the more ridiculous it got. I kind of remembering it getting more like a soap opera- and I'm not into those shows!
7. Full House. Such a funny show! And Uncle Jesse wasn't too bad looking either ;)
8. Sabrina The Teenage Witch. I think I liked this one mainly because there was a talking cat in it :)
9. Gilligan's Island. Such a classic! When Malinda and I would portray this show when we would play, I would always be Ginger, and she was Mary Ann.
10. The Secret World of Alex Mack. I barley remembered this one. If I remember right, Alex had special powers?! I just remember that I liked it.
11. Sister, Sister. Malinda and I loved this one! I was Tamara and she was Tia! Can you tell Malinda and I played a lot together ?? :)
12. Brotherly Love. I always thought the Lawrence brothers were sooo good looking. I sure was boy crazy!

13. Clueless. I like the movie even better. Look at those phones in the picture!! Can you imagine what it would be like if they came out with a new 'Clueless'.. insane!!!

And there are a couple of more...Growing Pains..The Jefferson's.. I Dream of Jeannie.. Bewitched.. and probably more I'm not thinking of!

I have to wonder what shows the kids between the ages of cartoons and The Real World are watching these days??! I think kids are probably watching teenage/adult shows a lot sooner than they used to.
